Westport River Outfitters or "WRO" was created in January 2015, Captain Carl Moberg has been a USCG licensed 100 Ton Master since 1984, and began fishing with his Dad in 1966.



I was fortunate to have served on active duty with the US Coast Guard for 21 years,  and dropped anchor in Westport, Massachusetts. With the military I got to travel to many places one may not otherwise have experienced. I grew up in Massachusetts and was raised hunting and fishing with my Dad and uncles from the Canadian border of Maine, Central Massachusetts, the waters of Boston Harbor, and of course Cape Cod. My Dad ran a charter boat out of Weymouth Back River in the early 80's I got to mate or serve as a fill in Captain as needed. I have fished Puerto Rico, Alaska, Florida, Texas, Cabo San Lucas Mexico, Colorado, Montana, California, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, and Canada.... and I am sure a few others I forgot to mention.

 

Fishing nationwide and beyond has brought me to realize just how special a fishery we are fortunate to have right in our own backyard. I try to highlight trips that present the feel of ""New England'". It's not about quantity, it is about quality, the quality of whatever experience you want from a family introductory fishing trip with your children showing the kids how to harvest delicious fish from our coastal waters to a hardcore effort for experienced fisherman run and gun flyrod, light tackle to conventional tackle. I target Stripers, Blues, Albie's, Sea Bass, Tautog and Fluke around Buzzards Bay and Elizabeth Islands predominately, but I also frequent the waters of Cape Cod from Monomoy to Race Point if that is where the fish or experience you are seeking lies. Tell me what your goals for the trip are? Catch supper, Catch lots of fish for fun, Catch a trophy, teach the kids how to fish, a Buzzards Bay Bouquet? All are possible at different times of the year.....

 

It is all about you having a great time, however no drugs or alcohol allowed onboard please regardless of what is legal. I reserve the right to cancel any trip for weather or other reasonable cause, of course you get a full refund. If you dont catch fish you dont pay it's that simple yes unfortunately sometimes it happens to the best of us (but not often).
